Pacherenc du Vic – Bilh Sec Domaine Sergent

Grape variety: Gros Manseng Petit Manseng
Country of origin: France
Region: Madiran
Vintage: 2017
ABV: 14%
A delight- full dry white from this little known Pyrenean region made by the Dousseau sisters Brigitte & Corinne from 50 % each of the tangy aromatic Gros & Petit Manseng grape varieties.A passage en barrique unusually here ,has added complexity & texture to balance the racy acidity.
A bold choice to accompany it would be Sushi? or perhaps the speciality dish of the region, quenelles of pike!

G De Guiraud

Grape variety: Semillon Sauvignon
Country of origin: France
Region: Bordeaux
Vintage: 2017
ABV: 13.5%
From 1er Grand Cru Classe producer Chateau Guiraud (immediate neighbour of Chateau D’Yquem ) this is a fine expression of the Guiraud terroir. Organically produced & fermented & aged in used Sauternes barrels to give a powerful intense honeyed dry wine, just at the beginning of its development now a year or two in bottle will undoubtedly pay dividends.. if you can resist it.

Parcellaires de Saulx

Grape variety: Chardonnay
Country of origin: France
Region: Burgundy
Vintage: 2017
ABV: 13%
Produced according to Biodynamic principles from low yielding 30 year old vines by this ambitious quality driven micro negoce based in Meursault.Mineral on the nose with notes of oyster shell & ginger & a pleasing creamy touché of vanilla en bouche.
‘A Proper White Burgundy’ deffo!

Morgon Dominique Morel

Grape variety: Gamay
Country of origin: France
Region: Beaujolais
Vintage: 2015
ABV: 12.5%
Dominique Morel is the talented & dedicated vigneron & producer of several excellent Beaujolais Crus, including this gold medal winning cuvee of his Morgon ‘Douby’.Now showing lovely Pinotent character with notes of raspberry strawberry & a hint of gaminess, which could certainly be the perfect partner. For the record i also particularly like to drink it with Dhal .. usually on a monday night!

Indigo Domaine Navicelle

Grape variety: Grenache Syrah Mourvedre
Country of origin: France
Region: Provence
Vintage: 2015
ABV: 14.5%
The beautiful & dramatic Provencal landscape of the Colle Noires is the stunning backdrop to the Navicelle Domaine, here you can literally smell & taste the Mediterranean mingling with the olive groves ,herbes & garrigue. This is Alsace born winemaker Jannick Utards hommage to the essence of this special place. A captivating violet & cassis scented Biodynamic Bandol-esque rouge, that cries out for a slow cooked shoulder of lamb.

L’Authentique Chateau Pineraie

Grape variety: Malbec
